So, what's new?

I've been away from PlaneShift for almost a year now, how's the game coming along?

A lot. Log in, go explore, ask people. ;)

BTW - a new version is planned "soon (tm)". Who will care for "news from the last year" then? :D

Rp is not dead. You get out of the game what you put into it.
There have been a few user run rp events running for weeks now and there are more planned to follow.

The rcd and stonehead have also been in operation for some time now.

Kicking along about the same old speed. But we may be on a cusp, of some sort.

To be honest, the thing that inspired me to make this topic was when I ran the PS updater expecting megabytes of new awesome and.....

"No updates needed"

Not a single modification to any game files in almost a whole year?

not released yet but there has been a lot of fixing in art and code.
3000+ revisions of svn, new items and many map bugs fixed, a lot of fixes you won't see from the updater but which are server side and so on. unfortunately current art won't work on stable client as it was overhauled also in it's format.

Unfortunately, the current release doesn't get regular updates anymore when the main attention is already on a new version (even though some code bugfixes would possibly help a lot players to keep the patience)...

if you wish some big fixes you can update cs 1.4 to head and rebuild everything. you will get:
- fixed portals
- a better collision detection and no sticky ground
- no leaf replaced crash and so no more continuous crashes
