Combat problems?

I really like the game even though it's very beta in some parts, but the characters etc are excellent.

Only problem I have is that whatever enemy it is, if I fight it, sometimes it wont attack at all and the opponent kills me, even though I try many times and I am in front of it.
Also, I can't run from the battle anyway. It always targets it again and keeps trying attacking. Can it be fixed any way?

No matter what I'm gonna keep playing this and hope for good updates in future.

Ideas that come into my mind:
- you are too weak to hurt your opponent (check system tab)
- you are too far away to attack (check big letters on the screen )
- you attack in fully defensive stance (check system tab)
For the rest didn't I recognize any bad bugs that prevent from fighting. Maybe check the three points above and tell us if any is true.

If you don't have a system tab, deactivate the basic chat window in the ingame options under chat tabs.
