Quick question. I've trained in the Azure way and have an air/wind glyph, but can't figure out what to do now. When I research the glyph, I just lose health. Do I need another glyph? I've asked around and can't seem to find the answer.

Have you purified the glyph? you need to purify the glyph first before you can research a spell form it.

Yep, I did that.

You should also have trained at least theory for one whole level of this magic way before researching (filling up the yellow bar completely to green), if you have level 0 yet.

Drop the purified glyph in the first of the four combination slots.

Then, when you researched the glyph successfully and learned an available spell, you can cast it later via the spellbook, or with the command "/cast Spell name".

Great, thanks!  Another thing: I have trained at mining and have dug 9 coal lumps, but I need 10. Now when I dig, I am never successful, do I have to train more?

No you just need to keep trying. Note that different areas in the mine will yield different results in terms of how often you get ores so maybe try a different location in the mine.

Indeed ... there are "hot spots"; so moving a little in a random direction after digging may increase or decrease the chance - which is a randomized probability anyway (you may have a streak of bad luck).
