This is so sad. He was in the DE for a while and was an absolute pleasure to play with the guy. OOC was a cool and genuine guy. Just helped make everything fun again.

Ugh... I'm very sorry to hear this. Karlyle was an awesome person and a valuable asset to the community. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to converse and write with him. My condolences to his family, friends, and those who were close.

So it seems unfortunately the sad news is true and Karlyle's player is no longer living. I'm extremely saddened.

I often had very good and enjoyable times and been entangled in several long running RPs with Karlyle and had taken him on to help with things in the den in a major way. Soon afterward, he stopped playing much as he decided to join the PS dev team. Very recently he'd come back to play his Karlyle char. and we chatted briefly in game and had exchanged a few PMs.

I will miss him much. Other friends and family of his have my deepest condolences should they see this. RIP

I had a great time RPing IC and chatting OOC with Karlyle both as players and both of us as GMs. Lots of good memories. I had been hoping the note in game wasn't accurate but it seems it was. Like Dannae said we chatted during his brief return, and seeing him about recently I'd hoped he would make a strong return which i was looking forward too. He was the kind of guy that will be missed by all, and certainly by me.

Oh my goodness now I feel like an absolute noob, I just read the start post and thought all the comments were just 'see you later, RL matters more', not noticing the date either.

This is very sad, Karlyle will definitely be missed by the whole community and myself! He was in the Dark Empire with me before he left, he showed me the way to the black flame temple and helped me out with creating and RPing a villain character a few times. He was a definite asset to the Planeshift community! My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Karlyle was both good RP and a lot of fun. He will be missed. Would there be support to make him the first person honored on a memorial wall of significant former characters? I was thinking a segment of the tunnel wall leading to the Hydlaa arena could have books eulogizing the departed, preferably locked by a GM.

If someone was tasked with maintaining the memorial, approving the books to be included, and rotating them if the number was too high would that help? I certainly don't want to make crossing the tunnel an exercise in lag. Perhaps a registry of names in a single book for most, separate books for truly outstanding characters and the recently departed?
