psclient fails on ubuntu 12.10

PS 0.5.9.2 fails on ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal)

Login screen works fine, but when click on "Login", aborts with:

psclient.bin: brw_queryobj.c:278: brw_begin_query: Assertion `!"Unrecognized query target in brw_begin_query()"' failed.

Have you tried running the game client directly? I don't think the launcher app has ever worked for OSX when it comes to starting the game. It works for updating the client and changing settings but to start the game client I think Mac users have always had to start the game client directly.

The client fails too.

I just discovered the problem. With version 9.0 of mesa libraries fails, but with version 8.0.4 works fine.

Maybe the GL API has changed in the last versions of mesa...

Have similar crushes after update to Ubuntu Quantal 12.10 with open source driver on AMD 7660G.
Desktop runs perfectly, but psclient crushes just after loading screens.

In my case, problem was solved by using latest closed source BETA Catalyst driver from AMD site.

With fglrx package from repo and Catalyst 12.10 from AMD site my GNOME 3 refused to work, so I can't tell about psclient crushes with those drivers on Ubuntu 12.10. And I have not tested fglrx-updates package too.
