A Guessing Game
« on: September 11, 2013, 08:48:39 am »

Try this.

Pick a city or place, any city, any place. You have five seconds to make your choice.

Read the questions below when done.

1. Why did you pick this place?
2. How many other places came to mind before you chose this particular one?
3. How many places do you know of in total? Ten or more? Twenty? Hundreds?
4. Of all the cities that DID NOT COME TO MIND when I asked you to pick one, where you FREE to pick one of these cities?
5. Would you agree that your choices and ideas are limited to those that pop into your head?
6. Why did that handful of places pop into your head? Do you know where they came from or exactly why they popped in there?

This is introspection, less a guessing game.

1. Los Angeles
2. None.
3-6. I don't know.

Call it an exercise, then.

In your example, if "Texas" popped into your head, would you have been more likely to have chosen "Texas" as your answer?

Who chose "Los Angeles" ? Was it your or did your brain just dictate that answer to you?

If several cities had popped into your head and you merely picked one of them - or waited for a few more to trickle in and then picked one of them, then would you not agree that you have been railroaded into choosing from a narrow range of choices?

1. Ojaveda popped into my head.
2. None, I only had 5 seconds.
3. In real life, hundreds.
4. Of course, if one had come to mind.
5. No.
6. Hey, I'm in the Plane Shift forum, what else would I be thinking of?

A small city (perhaps more of a town) in France that I can't recall the name of.

1. It was the first that came to mind.

2. Zero.

3. Too many.

4. Yes. I thought the term "city", and my brain chose the closest available one. By closest, I mean the most readily available in my mind.

5. We are limited by the information we possess and by the time allowed to process that information.

6. I had the Mona Lisa in my mind. The city I first thought of has an atmosphere much like that portrayed in that painting.
