Planeshift and translations
« on: August 07, 2010, 04:28:00 pm »
Hi all!

I just made my Forum account after making my Planeshift RP account. This game is definitely excellent! The features it offers, the quality of graphics, sounds, storyline, gameplay; waahoo, everything is so fine it makes me very happy and I'd like to help the game in many ways.

I played with the english version and since my first language is french I just tried this translation and I realized then that the French version was rather a mix between French, Italian and English. I am fluently speaking french, english, japanese and german. Then if you need a translator, please ask me! I didn't found another place in the forum to post that so here it is.

For an incoming japanese version, maybe kanji acceptance settings should be first checked and some kind of auto-translator like in FFXI could be implemented but, probably starting with the non-rp servers, this could be a possibility in short or long term!

for the kanji stuff: the fonts used should be fully-utf8 compilant ;)

if you want to help keeping the translations up-to-date:
check the language files there: http://planeshift.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/planeshift/trunk/lang/ (italian and english should be most up-to-date)
if you have an improvement/addition for one of those, create a svn diff and file a bug on the bugtracker with a link to the patch or directly mail a dev with it :)

Thank you Rly, I'll give it a look. I will also see what I can do with the PSwiki language translation page. I'm also very motivated in playing Planeshift for now! Still I'll give a look at this case.

Wonderful! The german community did a pretty good job translating it usefully and understandable, IMHO, so if you like, please meet us on http://www.psde.de or in #psde on irc.xchannel.org - either for technical talk or for just a bit fun.
