Migg was happy. His bride next to him smiling radiantly, the newly wed couple walked down the aisle and headed to the reception area.
One by one the guests followed to the table already prepared for the feast. As the couple sat at the head of the table, friends old and new approached to congratulate them and offer presents.
Jess and Migg were happily chatting with their guests at the beginning of their life together. As people helped themselves to the food and drinks, mirthful talking started all around the table. The bard was filling the night air with the sweet sound of his music, and the night was crisp and bright like the shining faces of the newlyweds.
"Shall we go and cut the cake?" As the couple approached the impressive 3-tier wedding cake, the guests gathered all around them smiling.
"OK, lets cut the wedding cake!" Migg said.
"Oh you go ahead!" Jess replied. "I'll topple it all over I'm sure" she added giggling.
"No", Deryna said, "no you have to cut together! Its tradition"
Migg took Jess's hand and gave her the knife. The two of them slid the knife through the cake laughing, as the guests urged them on and clapped.
"See, we made the first cut! One more!"
Migg and Jess cut a slice and placed it on their plate.
"Yes! OK, here you go!" Migg took a spoonful of the cake and gave it to Jess. Giggling she ate the cake and took the spoon.
As guests laughed and urged them on, Jessamine scooped up a spoonful and moved the spoon to Migg's mouth with a giggle.
Migg swallowed it and exclaimed: "It's good!" He smiled to his bride and their guests.
Jessamine said: "OK everyone, grab a slice!"
"Who made the cake Migg and Jessamine?"
"The Highlady Deryna made it." Jess replied, making Deryna blush!
The cake was well received and merriment continued well into the night. More presents were exchanged, gifts small and large, gifts everyday and special, gifts ordinary and magical, all gifts offered with the great love of friends sharing the happiness of the new couple who's marriage they came to witness. Wishes were given in person, and wishes were entered in the book the couple had placed for their guests to sign.
The couple left their guests and took the pterosaur flight to Amdeneir and their honeymoon. A new day was starting in Yliakum, and with it a new life was beginning for Jessamine and Migg, bound together by the love they so passionately shared!
