increased virtuial memory... now freazes when loads world

ok well.... i had the game running i was on playing on my chr etc..... but i increased my virtuial memory to speed it up a lil... but then after when i tried to connect again, it freazez when its loading world....        i have a pentim4 1.50 ghz,128 mb ram,  windows xp      .when i first set up planeshift i had the sameproblem it freazing when world loaded, but i fixed that by increasing virtuial memory, but cant fix it this time with the same methiod because virtuial memory is already up plz if you have any ideas plz post

Hmm, normally increasing the virtual memory would simply prevent crashing; not speed anything up.  WinNT\'s VMM is pretty good with a dynamic filesize.  Unless you use your system for realtime video editing, I\'d recommend letting it use the dynamic virtual memory.  Setting your VM file to a specific size is good to prevent fragmentation on systems with very tight hard drives, but otherwise isn\'t all that helpful.

Have you tried putting the virtual memory size back where it was and see what happens?

Just a long shot here, are you using that WinXP tweak that loads all system components into RAM to bring Windows to outlandish speeds?

ya i tried setting the memory back to what it was beofre it started freazing... but it freazes still
