56kb/s modem

To Whom This May Concern,


I have a 56k modem and downloading those massive parts of the game is pretty long for me is there any way to get smaller downloads or are they all only 20 Megs downloads?

I feel your pain. I too have a 56k, but I also have a 1MB DSL at my other computer so I dled it there. :P

The program is already chopped up as it is. As of yet, I don\'t believe there are smaller downloads and I doubt the devs will make them.

You could arrange for someone who has the game to do some fancy zipwork and get you a whole bunch of smaller files, but that would be difficult.

hey man - what do new games cost now a days? 60 bucks?  mail me 60 bucks and I\'ll burn it on a cd for ya - maybe... :P

i\'m on 56k to but I did it the smart way I got one of my ADSL freinds to download it for me you should see if one of your freinds with broadband will download it for you

...I also feel your pain...I don\'t have DSL, nor do I have friends with DSL (or friends, for that matter).  but, I did manage to get everything downloaded in one night with only a medium amount of effort...(okay, it was a pain in the...um...yeah...)

Getright is this little download shareware thingy, it let\'s you download from multiple mirrors at the same time, it keeps the file if you get disconnected, and you can set it on auto download (when one download finishes, another starts).


no, I am not a spammer, nor do I have any connection with Getright  (actually, I owe them the shareware money, but oh well), and have nothing to gain or loose by posting this (except a few minutes of sleep).

poor souls... I for one am glad I\'ve got my DSL. I admire you for still wanting to get the game, I wouldn\'t have bothered with a 56k but no, to my knowledge there aren\'t any smaller downloads...

Im on 56k, I just left the download going overnight and it finished by morning, so thats always an option.
You gotta decide whether its worth downloading if your on 56k tho, I get nasty lag when im looking at large objects. Its alright otherwise though, so your call.

Sorry I didn\'t keep this thread updated I finished downloading bout A week agoobut there is so much lag that i gave up on this version of the game. Thanks guys

I have quite a crappy connection, I can only afford the cut down version of broadband (I download at only about 15-20k) I suggest you just download 1 or 2 of the files overnight, It worked fine for me, and in no time you will have downloaded it.

I too have a 56k modem, but fear not. In about a month I will have 100Mbit broadband. I will smile when I download EVERYTHING in less than 10 secs. I do feel pity for you...  hehe!

$60 for a game? Jeezus, Drilixer, what planet are you from?! :P I mean, $60 isn\'t even what a proper dsl connection costs here, and if you have a proper dsl connection you can just get any game for free, if you know what I mean... *shh* :D
