lmao.  :D
Coal and wood should just be automatic for smelting purposes. If any of u played gothic 1 or 2 then u can smelt stuff, as the wood and coal if already there burning away in the furnace. So I agree with paxx that there is no point in this at all.  :D

So could you get some fire from fireplace to lit an arrow to make a fire arrow ... and about that burning thing ... could you burn up a tree and would the fire spread ?
Could enemies catch fire from other burning enemies.
Chaotic...

This is little off topic but it doesnt matter :)

PYROMANIAC!!!! whooooooooop!! sorry *calms down* but really i think this should be implemented, or at least have creatable fire with flint and stoen or sumthing... dont u ever jsut want to make a huge bonfire in the middle of the town so everyone will marvel at the BRIGHT LIGHTS!?!?

sooo? where did the original log come from? where did the coal come from? someone had to put it in there. unless the smelter is magically powered (and i dont see many of those in fantasy games) i dont see how it can have a log or coal that never burns out. and if smelters have their own coal, why might we have to mine our own, anyways?

[sarcasm]why not just take the entire metal that you have with you and toss it in, and vola! smelted metal with no cost![/sarcasm]
Precious and beutiful, it is happy. The only time when it is not is when it is in a shape of a tear.

I am sorry if anyone is offended by my comments, in this case it was really not my intent.

While the idea is nice, I currently don?t see the amount of work behind it as justified in our current game concepts.

My current issue with some on the team is where magic begins and where does it end. While most see magic everywhere for combat, they don?t see it for the very mundane tasks. In this case I like the Harry potter model a lot. I see magic in the most mundane of tasks as being the best way to do things?it should be a justification on why the characters do not have to do X, Y and Z. why the streets are clean?ext.

While I do not want magic as the generic answer all?I do see it as a justification for much. I?d spend more time explaining this?but there are so many other posts to read and comment on.

One possibility for this is to have a ?short list? of burning items and how they should act. But still I am not sure in the justification?on the other end. We could say elemental embers require a ton of coal as a material component and a smelter may require 1000 elemental embers to create?you all can expand on this I am sure.
