Lag or settings?

Hey, im new to the game and the community, so hello everyone. First of all, looks like a great game, for free its  great game and with the new updates its getting better and better.

However, i dont know whats going on but for some reason the game is very choppy. And i mean to a point where i can hardly play.

My specs.

Pentium 2.4 800 fsb
Asus motherboard 800 fsb
512mb Pc3200
Geforce 5200, 128mb
DSL.

Im assuming it CANt be my computer, but i dont think the severs are that bad. Are there any settings, or configs i can change?
I have put the game on the lowest setting, and everything inbetween. Nothing seems to work?
Anyone got any suggestions?

The game isn\'t optimized yet..  Just try to lower your graphics settings and increase the SWAP size

I use WindowsXP and it was lagged (P4 2.533, Geforce 5200 fx). Reason: compatability mode. I needed to switch to win98/me comp. to create a char, but the play was lagged! (1 fps, depending where you looked).

It was not my hardware, only when I looked in the direction of the temple. Frustum culling works Then I switched off compatability mode and now it works fine.

So for those lagged XP users:
  Try to disable compatability mode.

I had big problems playing with the computer at home (at university I have a Geforce 4 64 MB and everything was smooth).

I was noticing that I was getting completely stuck when I was trying to enter all the building (I couldn\'t access to them, I was almost paralyzed) and when I was watching by distance the temple.

I have made changement in the setup, about resolution and depth bits (now I can play with 8 bit), but I guess that the problem is that the engine is not optimizing properly. But I am not an expert in the field.
