Fansite - Questions

i would like to know if its illegal to use the material from the planeshift website to promote the game in the form of a fansite, i got links directly to the game, client etc, its not fully up, but its done, so all i need to know is if thats illegal

In the US and in some other countries there\'s a concept known as Fair Use.  Fair use allows you to use content created by another for your own uses, provided that your own doesn\'t lessen the value of the original (i.e. by competing with the original work), along with a few other guidelines.  In theory, you could use some content from PS to make your fansite, but if it was me, I\'d try to get permission first.

ok thx, ill just wait for the admins (or whoever is in charge in this matter) decision, like i said the info im using from the site is to promote the game

Just use IRC and ask the devs... irc.freenode.net I believe, channel #planeshift. That\'s where some devs usually hang out.

you forgot the port if you use trillian i dunno if it\'s the same with Mirc. With trillian the port is:6667

That\'s the default IRC port, most clients use that port unless told otherwise.
