Events

I like events. For example, some of these I made up:

The store has been robbed! Catch the thief!

A treasure chest has been found!Get there first!

Enemies are attacking the towns!Defend the villagers!

These might be a bit too extreme for PlaneShift, but I hope they come out.

Umm...this sounds like an average quest like thing to me! See things like getting a chest or items, or fighting hordes of enemies are really deep in the quest category!

Except someone doesn\'t ask you to do it,smart one! These are in the quest category, but they have a difference!!Quests,someone asks you to do it. Events randomly happen. Quests you find a specific person. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE YOU KNOW.

hmm it might be cool, but what if you dont wanna go \"defend the villages?\" then the villages would be overrun by barbarians and it would change the whole PS world... might be a little extreme but, what if you dont wanna catch the thief, lol the store just got robbed and its out of bussiness...another change to the PS world...

If you don\'t want to defend the villages, you don\'t have to. All these events are optional, but you get a reward. Practicly, thats the only point of doing the events.

Hi there!

Yeah, I hope there will be events too, that\'s the funniest thing in the videogames, but events are quite difficult to program, what if things don\'t happen as the programmer thought? I expect dynamic participation in this topic because is very interesting.

As a little contribution, I think there could be some predefined events like some ritual in the temple every sunday or something like that. Have you play some game where the time passes (like Morrowind or GTA)? It gets so boring when all the days are the same.

click \'search\' at the top and search for \'events\', you will find this has been discussed more times than you can shake a big stick at, ironically a couple of times even with the same title name.

Well, KwartzTheKran you are right, there\'s a lot, but each one speak about some concrete aspect of the events. There must be a thread about events in general. If there is some say, but if not, this could be a good choice.

this may sound off the wall but i think events in the ps world should be made by players like if a player robs a shop another player should be able to stop him or if a group of people want to raid a town other players could pitch in to stop them or die trying (or run away)
i think this type of stuff is what makes mmorpg what they are

if there are defend the town kind of events, i think besides hordes of mobs, there should be a special boss mob for that type, that has something rare, and the item should be duplicated a couple of times, and made so u can only grab 1 item from the corpse then it keeps you from opening it up agian

or something like that would be cool, personally i\'d like to see winged creatures invade a town sometime later in the release when we have high lvl player towns and such, would be a good way to capture a winged creature, good opportunity to capture several
