About farming and the like
« on: January 07, 2004, 11:02:41 pm »
I was wondering, probably we will be able to grow our own grain and the likes to make food when we choose to be a farmer. But being a herbalist/druid, i was wondering if it would be possible to have our own gardens (a herb-garden in my case) somewhere around the (guild)house, so a player could be able to grow a bit of whatever he likes him/herself, not having to venture out into the dangerous woods without any means of escort risking to be p\'ked by some madman or monster?

hmm, I\'m not sure if there will be a \'sow/plant seed\' option for farmers, herbalists etc.. makes sense though.

I was hoping there would be an option like this for herbalists: when you encounter an herb you have two choices, either pick the plant for harvesting, or transfer it to a clay pot (crafted or otherwise).  If you pot the plant you can take it back to your house/workplace and keep it watered so that you always have a fresh supply of herb when you needed it.

How I set my timezone:

ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Antarctica/Davis /etc/localtime

Sounds great - plants taking a month to grow ... this will give some persistence to the game.

I think there will have to be an area inside the guild to make sure that non-guild members don\'t steal your herbs.

Get some cow dung along with dead fish heads and add some decent irrigation ? you will be all set.

But before you pick out a ?lot? where you want your herbalist guild house, better check the soil to make sure it will support your plants.

These things will make a cool game ?
