How about a stadium!

What if the planeshift world had a stadium or colliseum where ppl could go to fight monsters? I mean it could be a place to go for a challenge and some quick money if your a good fighter! Also maybe other events could be held there like an exclusive ps sport! Well if Final Fantasy can make up a sport so can we! I\'ll post some ideas and rule on sports for ps later! In full a colliseum could be used for a variety of things. What do you all think of this? Also don\'t be afraid to submit some sports to play in the stadium (nothing unoriginal)

there is probally going to be an arena type thingy like your thinking except probally just pvp. but really just pvp would be dumb so im giving the benefit of a doubt that there will be mosnters in it too. but then again the devs could screw up and not have animals.. but hey i trust em.. :D:P

It would be great to have a massive, open-to-the-public arena where people could go for duels.  In Morrowind there\'s an \"Arena\" in the largest city on the island, and whenever an NPC challenges you to an honourable duel, the Arena is the place where you fight.

It would be great to have a huge sunken pit as the battlefield with stadium seating all around the edge for people to come in and watch if they liked.  Imagine the spectacles when two magic users dueled, or two warriors in heavy armour!

Important fights could be publicly advertised via signs or word-of-mouth.  I think this would be an excellent idea.

yeah but what about a sport exclusive to planeshift? I cant think of anything... Something to do with crystals? Maybe... I dont know really I cant think of one idea... Hmm someone think of some unique ideas. Something with crystals seems the way to go.

no I wont\' flame. I mean when he said quick money, I assuming he wants a quick amount of money, and lots of it, by one battle. If its a little bit of money its okay. Its not really logical for someone to become the richest player in the game by just winning one fight.

If you want to fight monsters, you can go out and fight monsters, however a PvP arena with duels and mass-slaughterings (last man standing), etc. is most likely to be implemented sometime when it is needed, and I\'m sure there will be a bookmaker NPC who allows people to bet money on their favorite champion or who allows the two duelling people to fight for an amount of money.

As for the unique sport, we already have crystal hunting. What else do we need? :)

A stadium would be useful, u could take up wrestling (starting with low paying and against n00bfighters, then moe up and up and AWAY)
Archery, wrestling, swordhandling contests on important dates (like waylanders birthday, the day waylander made his first kill, the day...)
And who wouldnt want to wrestle a bear while unarmed.
Yeah a stadium would be great as I would win every contest and dwarves would win none :P

Arena game types:
pvp:
2+ teams sign up for a tournament (held periodically). When it is time to start the tournament, all teams are bundled into the arena (gates open, and players can go in). The last team standing wins some reward.

Audience are the players and some decorative npcs. In other to get the players to actually become the audience, players can bet a sum of money on a team. There is a limit to how much you can bet of course.

pvm:
A group of players are selected to fight beasts. The beasts are released into the arena in waves of increasingly harder monsters. Eventually, the players will die, but it\'s all in good fun. The audience can bet on which wave the players will all die or something.

They could do what they did on star wars ep 2 atack of the clones where 3 beasts are vs 3 players and if the players win 3 more beasts come in with a rider ect.

A stadium would be good because you can have the choice of fighting someone and it would be offical than pvp zoned areas.

My idea is that players have a battle request first before they fight so incase others dont wanna fight they dont have too.

good ideas everyone, and it would be good to see a stadium in the game.
