More information required. When exactly does it freeze? Do you mean you actually see the game world, and then it freezes? Or do you mean it freezes during the \'Initialising World\' process?

We will also be needing your system specs. Particularly CPU speed, RAM, graphics card, directX version. And if you\'ve got all the latest drivers for your hardware.

My game is having the same problem, i created my character and clicked \"upload\" but it freezes on initializing world.
My system specs are as follows:

Nvidia GforceFX 5200 video card
950 CPU
512 RAM
and the latest directX

Leave it to Initialise World for at least 2 hours before you give up. This happens to many people on their first connection.

If you quit the client without waiting, you may have corrupted your character. You will then need to delete the character at http://planeshift.fragnetics.com/admin/form.html and try uploading him again. This time, wait for as long as it takes to Initialise World. ;) Don\'t alt+tab or ctrl+alt+del during this time.

The question has been asked several times since I\'m on the forums, but I\'m still having a hard time in comprehending the technical issues that make some ppl wait several hours for their first connect, but do not apply on later attempts.
Could anyone bring some light into the darkness for me? :)

Wrong.

I sorta half-understand it... and it\'s not specifically to do with uploading your character. When I installed the MB client on my machine again a few days ago, I had this same Initialising World delay, even though I was just logging in to my usual Moogie character.

When the client has been freshly installed onto your machine, it needs to (or thinks it needs to) recalculate all of its lighting variables to adjust to your system. With an account that has already been created, like \'Moogie\', it is perfectly safe to just close the client down and try again to avoid the 2 hour wait. However, if you do this with a new character, he/she is likely to become corrupt and unusable.

Handon: The page I linked to has two buttons. Type your character name and click \"Check\". If the account is \"invalid\" then you must use the form again and click Delete. If it is \"valid\", that character is fine, and shouldn\'t/cannot be deleted.
