What are your system specs(CPU, graphics card, RAM etc)? this problem occurs with really low-end computers I think(it happened on my school computer  )..

Let me guess:
You are running PS under Linux, propably Slackware 9.1 and you  don\'t get TTF fonts at all. Well, welcome to the club,  I had the same problem and never got it to work. Even tried to install a TTF font server, but nothing helped. Seems nlike Slack isn\'t supporting truetype fonts.  If you want to get PS to work try another distro, unless someone can come up with a  better idea on how to solve this issue ?(

I have the same problem:

When running with openGL support I get this white screen as atje described...

When starting the (really really slow) software rendering safe mode anything works fine - but slow.

I\'m using a brand new Asus Notebook with Athlon 2500mobile processor... It has some kind of SIS graphic chip. Its not high end but should do anyway.
The graphic chip is SIS M650_651_650_740, There 512Mb Ram(inclusive Video Ram).
I\'m still using Win 98 don\'t ask me why :p

Do I need a special Direct-X or something? Or is my video card not running properly?

OK I now can play in openGL mode:

I downloaded new Graphic drivers.
I guess the old one did not suppeort open GL.
