pvp no damage but gain xp
« on: April 10, 2004, 03:56:07 pm »
i dont know if this is a good idea but ( thats why im asking u guys ) if you could practice fighting, swords keep clashing and you practice your sword moves.

or hand to hand blocking, etc

you could do it for a bit each day, and you gain xp slower than killing npc/monsters but its safer and good for newbs.

What you guys think???

I like the idea.
You should be able to train your skills by practicing with other players.  At some point you could reach a point where you could not gain skill by practicing. You would actually have to fight in combat to gain skill.

I think it\'s a good idea too! It would be easier for those who are new to the game to get started with out being slaughted by those who are many levels higher

My thoughts exactly derwoodly.
Properly tuned rules could make this a wonderful feature.

Then again, if combat is simply click and wait, riskless PvP training sessions may turn out to be boring and tedious.  Of course, I am not a fan of click and wait combat... *cough* Everquest *cough*

Yeah, thats a pretty good idea. It gives an alternative for people who want to train their skills that are at a low level rather than actually fighting. And it would be cool to practice against other people, maybe we could have a wooden version of every type of weapon for this purpose...

i would agree if there would be dmg involved.  basically 2 friends want to see who\'s stronger by not losing a thing.

Or another idea, no dmg loss would be involved, but you could see how much dmg you could cause on your friend with every hit

That would be a duel...without stakes...
