Plugins
« on: May 30, 2004, 10:46:57 pm »
Since it\'ll be updated a lot more frequently, might we get the ability to have plugins to prevent a mod distributer (Aineko-style, not hacker-style) from having to re-distribute mods again?

The CB client will probably see many more official updates, so I doubt any such player mods will be necessary or even allowed.  Of course they can still be made, they would just be worked into the official updates.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

It\'s open source, what\'s the point in preventing mods?

And plugins won\'t necessarily disrupt the updates. The idea behind plugins is that you can add it to the game, and remove it from the game very easily, and that is as cross-versions as possible.

I have copies of [Windows] 3.1, 3.11, 95, and 98, too. Not to mention various versions of MS-DOS

CB will be updated regular (we hope).

The only fexible way to do mods, is to do them quickly (before any other changes are made), give it to us and we will see if makes to the next update
