Newb in need of help with setup program

hey guys i think this is a great game so far but i wanted to go into the setup program but im having a problem it says \"cannot greate directdraw device\" can anyone help me? oh yea and....

Have you updated your drivers, directx ect.?
And whay system specs do you have?

There You can find help with Diag Your Directx Setup with as explained there ... DirectX 9.0b improves the graphics, security, and performance of your operating system. Download and install this update for your Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP-based system.
To run DxDiag ... if Dx is loaded correctly ... Click ... Start ... Run ... DxDiag ... Enter .. = .. You would get the Utility Running to Trouble Shoot / Test Your Dx problems and settings by running as shown at the Utility !!!

hey ok first off i just wanna say thanx for the help but i updated it and ran the diagnostic and everything was running fine.... still nothing on the setup though. as for my specs what do u wanna know? im running 98 i have an AMD aphlon(tp) xp 2400+ chip 256ram i believe im using a radeon 9600 (forgot if its 32 or 64mb)....i run final fantasy XI fine....mostly but i still cant get the setup program working

also i cant run the safe(slow) program either because of the same problem... i dunno if that helps to arrow it down any
