Racial problem

this is not a tread to talk about racism......( ^^ ),

looking in the game racial design, i came to notice than some races are currentrly to much like the other, i mean they are all humans with diferent skin colours, only with some pointy hears or small horns, the only original looking races are the Enkidukai, and the dwarfs are good to, but everybody likes and knows dwarfs(so is not really original, but is ok, in this case), the Karn are a little original, but the current model is just a stone human, in mean he haves exactly the same proportions.


all the other races are almoust the same, and i would say than some are unessesary, so to change that.... we have to think about proporcional and extra features that we could add them to make them more original, and then try to convince the team members( because they look as good and flexible minded people)

i would like to know who shares the same opinion than me in this matter, and those who dont think the same, please argument why(dont just say is stupid or something like that ^^)....

i would say that the races are good already in appearance. Eventually when playing you will start wearing armor/clothes etc so your racial appearance will vanquish behind those.

The one thing that does need change tough is the racial bonus (water breathing, night vision etc) and the extra ability points from the start, cause when you put some races against eachother and look which one is best in general, some are way weaker and the choice is easilly made.

Example, ynnwns have 2nd rank in body development (more hp) but 3 sorts of weapons do double damage against them, and magic weapons also do some xtra damage, making the 2nd rank very low if it comes to melee combat. That bit of xtra hp would be gone in 2-3 hits, and from there on they will only get down faster.

i agree in the racial bonus, and you already sayit yourself, \"wearing armor/clothes etc so your racial appearance will vanquish behind those\", thats why im telling you, the races look to much a like, with the exeptions i already mentioned, so the thing that should really change is the racial proportions, i mean make the neck longer, shoulders wider, arms shorter or longer, etc, so the racial appearance wont get lost wen the characters are using the same armor, and you can tell form far wat race are you looking at. (also i really hope all races wear thew same design of armor, wat i mean is, if a Ylinan decides to give the leather armor he in currently wearing to a Ynnw, and wen the ynnw wears it the same pattern of armor should be displayed, and not some magicaly displayed spikes, or design??, this is a mystake moust rpg makes, but some armors should be for a specific race only to ^^, like in the case of the Dwarf, the Endukai, and of cource the Klyros^^)....well about the proporcions, for example, the Kran should have larger and bigger arms, and more back, to give them a more bully like appearance..^^
