But if you don\'t log onto the game for a while/don\'t pay your taxes..... your house should either be given to someone else, or destroyed.

Yeah, thats exactly how I would like building to be, and the complexity, beautification, and options of your house/castle would be determined by the architect\'s skill. Of course this type of building is a looooong way off...

The SIMS interface for creating houses would be very cool.  But I\'m not sure I want to see that sort of break in the RP aspect of the game.

How about if it works this way - you find some money and a competent player architect and give him or her the following verbal instructions to create a custom house:

Single floor residential dwelling,
Large heavy double main door leading to entrance area,
Entrance area 10x6,
Sitting room 15x10 off of entrance area,
Meeting room 30x15 off of the sitting room with three windows,
Private room 10x15 by door off of the meeting room with standard back door,
Cooking room off of the entrance area with large fireplace and three windows,
Small hallway leading to bedrooms off of entrance area,
1st sleeping room 15x12 two windows,
2nd sleeping room 10x12 one window,
3rd sleeping room 10x12 one window.

There should be other building features that could be added (at additional cost) to the architectures list; like premium magical security, root cellar, food pantry, secure storage room, barn, coal shoot, aviary, or dungeon (don?t ask).

Hopefully the devs would have already created the art work for most of the AxB sized rooms, as well as the extra features.

A competent architect would be able to drop/position each of these rooms and features on your property that could appear as building markers, white flags and rope (yes I know it?s been done before).

You would then hire builder to build your home.

i pretty much strongly disagree with the \"taxes\" idea and losing your house if you don\'t log in for a while.

to increase bandwidth or whatever the devs could just go through nd get the houses that hadnt been visited in a month and take them off the game but save the info for the house so the player could request to have their house back.

why not give housings for donations :o)

You don\'t really need a house so it should be a goodie for people who help the community.

Hmmm you\'ve all seen Matrix 2 + 3 ? The Appartments could be in Zion-Style under the Ground and open in the middle...
Hmmm or lets do it the Hobbit way and you can dig your own house :)

everything.  Housing would just not be cool is everybody

can afford a house. It must be a simbol of \"status\", and

ofcourse mostly guild can afford it! Just make the house

prices high so it would cost you atleast 3 months before

you can buy one.

i agree with both these quotes

i also think that maybe people should be able to found towns, like guild towns, that way everyone in ur guild has their own house, and u build it like harvest moon, u start off with a shack and then u add additions to it (which will be very expensive) and stuff like making food in ur kitchen and selling it. i think designing ur own house like in the sims would be cool if theres enough room, but it might lag up alot, so the harvest moon building style could be used if the room is needed. also, i think that whoever founds a town should have to have either a guild or a certain amount of people who want to move into that town right when he decides to found it.

i like the house idea though it would be tricky to implament a \"build\" system.  but what about guild \"halls\" each member of the guild could have 1 room as \"theirs\" . and other rooms would be 4 the whol guild

why not stick to the RP principle and really build your own house.

or if you have enough money hire a contractor and have it build for you :)

and you can hire an architect to design it for you.

also building would take time. ppl (npc or real people) would be building the house. (builders skills anyone ;))

Chaotic mind, chaotic mind, where did i hide the point of what i was telling.....

I\'d really like to see this: Maybe only one house on the server that belonged to you, and when you go through the door, you\'re prompted to enter a digit code (or like a password to your house) seperate from your account password. If you want to go to a friends house, just input the code, and youre there. You could also have the option of changing that number so that if someone got to your house, they couldnt any longer (Like the concept of changing locks) This idea maybe could be polished, but I think it solves the space issue. BTW As far as I know this is an original idea that I have thought up, but I could be wrong (it may be in a game I havent played or heard of).
After a 14+ hour download at about 4 kbps, I finally downloaded and installed CB. Now if I could only figure out how to work the darn setup and character creation!
