IM STUCK PLEASE HELP
« on: April 10, 2004, 04:01:24 pm »
In my first character, i\'m stuck somewhere between a wooden bridge and a wall. I can\'t get out of there. So i made a new player, which i can\'t login to. How can play PlaneShift now?

Tried /spawn?
Browsing the forums when I\'m bored, nothing more.

Hello Shimada.

I think I got stuck there once, too.   X(

1) Run the updater program in your PS folder to make sure you have all the latest files.

2) Login to the server (your first character)

3) type /spawn  in the chat box

That command tells the program to send you to the large plaza with the statue in front of the orange temple. You should be good to play then.  :D

It updates your Planeshift files, and is located in the folder where you installed Planeshift (just guessing here [I run linux], but it\'s probably installed in C:/Program Files/Planeshift). You have to run it before typing /spawn otherwise it will not work.

Kaniaz:  How do you update in Linux?  I\'ve built PS and it\'s working good, but pretty laggy, and freezes some times.  So I wanted to update it and see if that cleared it up, but there is no \"updater\".  ??  Thats what it\'s called right?

I did a \"locate updater\" and I get nothing regarding PS.  I built PS using the build.sh script that I found somewhere on the forums here.  Is there something special you have to do to build the updater?

If you built under linux, you already have all the latest files, and updating only helps with spawn funkyness... so if you could update it wouldn\'t do anything :P you could try setting your compileroptimiztion flags to -O2 but if you don\'t know how to do that, I won\'t help since you could mess something up inadvertently.

haha, yeah I have an idea what you\'re talking about, but seeing as it took me forever to get it to work, I think I\"ll just wait it out.  May wait for the CB release.  Thank for the info!
