game wont connect

Ok, i\'m new, but what i did was:
Downloaded the 5 parts, downloaded the runme.bat thingy
installed game, all succesful, then i started the game, created a character, i wanted to connect
and when it came to Loading Map or sumtin it froze, well sorta, everything worked but loading wouldnt continue, so i searched these forums, and found that u have to wiat 2 hours etc, but after 30-40 mins it goes back to main menu and it says it cant connect and i have to go to Tech Help, or sumtin, i tried everything i found on this forum, but nothing helped....
So i tried to run it using dos (start -> run -> cmd)
and this happend:

C:\\>F:\\Games\\Planeshift\\psclient.exe
no CEL environment variable set!
csInitializer::SetupConfigManager failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment var set?
Exiting Planeshift.  Press Enter...

also when i try to change dir it wont work, i tried cd F:\\, cd F:\\Games and stuff, but non worked, so i just entered full pad, and as u can see it worked, or not...

so now i ask help...

system specs:
OS: Windows XP Professional
MB: some old MSI 745 or sumtin, i forgot
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2000+
Memory: 512 MB DDR 333
Videocard: Gainward FX 5200 (128 mb)
Connection: Broadband (DSL, 1120 kbps down, 352 kbps up)
got 2 HDDs, main: 60 gb (1 partition of 25 and 1 of 35 gb) and the other is just 80 gb
and thats about all info needed isnt it?
its kinda speaking for itself that i have a FDD, speakers, mouse, monitor, keyboard etc

Time of test was throughout the whole day (yesterday) well, mostly the evening (from 6 - 10 pm, GMT+1)

i quoted that, but it somehow works now
but its HELLA laggy, i cant even turn around, if i tap my
right arrow button once it turns like 40 degrees
and 3rd person view, and some skill/stat screen or sumtin, im going to noob guide part after this, but the lag is awfull

i have the same problem as dennis had but mine doesnt continue after it froze and i really want to play

never mind, it fixed itself and i got in. but theres so many things i can do -.- and theres no npc\'s anywhere.

I cant even run and i have to play on that little screen =/

Run the PS Setup so you can change the screen size.
Shift to run or R to auto run. There are a few NPCs out there but please remember this is a pre alpha stage right now. Enjoy
