Updates?
« on: December 25, 2004, 07:37:08 pm »
Are there any fixes for client-based bugs since release yesterday?

I ask for, because the upates seemed only to be for graphics.
Or is the updater only for artificial content?

I\'m not sure I fully understand your question, but I\'ll answer as best as I can. :)

Everyone should run the updater before they play a new session of CB. However, most of the bugfixes will happen server-side, which means you won\'t have to download anything when a bug is fixed. The exception to this, of course, is when someone finds a client bug/exploit. Then everyone\'s client will need to be fixed, thus everyone will need to run the Updater in order to do this.

The server won\'t allow you to connect unless you have the latest client version, so if you find yourself unable to connect, try updating first and foremost. :)

Thx for the answer!
Yes, I know that I need to update before playing, but all updates were only: updating and creating several images and no binary/library files, as I remember. So I am just wondering, if there is no real fixes for the clients . But as you said most stuff has to be done at the server...

Correction:
This will only happen if the netbase has changed enough to cause trouble

To answer the topic, no there hasn\'t been a updater yet.
We will release one when we have done a number of fixes (Which soon is done), Perhaps tonight
