dropping potions
« on: January 13, 2005, 05:54:30 am »
When I kill a Gobble, and I\'ve used a health potion while fighting it, my character drops a health potion after it\'s dead and I\'ve looted it. I think it happens every time.. and it may not just be gobbles, but that\'s all I\'ve ever killed :)
I was predestined to some awful doom.

The secret to not drop a potion is to use a shortcut:
/equip 1 potion of healing

You can also drag the potion from your inventory onto the 2d character drawing in the inventory to use it. No need to drop. Justeclair\'s solutions is more practical in combat, however.

How are you using the potion?

When you use at least one health potion during a fight, I\'ve found that typically you wind up dropping an extra one after the fight is over.  As to how it\'s used, acraig, selecting one potion and dragging it onto the character representation in the inventory, and subsequently just clicking the representation for a new one.

I haven\'t tried using the command; maybe that would fix the problem.

Ok, I\'ll check this out.  I also plan to add in the ability to drop the potions on the 3d models ( of yourself or others ) as well so they will be used on whoever you drop them on.

from looking at all these posts and from my experiences with the problem, it seems the error is when you drop the potion on your 2d character in the inventory window, that you dont properly drop the potion off your cursor or something, because occasionally i will click on another stack of potions after i have used a potion and it will add one to the stack as if i was holding one, but my cursor didnt show one as i had just used it on myself, and occasionally when i get done with the battle and i just got done using a potion, if i click on the 3d environment it drops one as if i was holding one in my cursor when it didnt show one on my cursor
