Well seems that lalaland is either a forum troll or something of similar lowness (ie closet runescape fanatic)... or more than likely mister lalaland is living in lalaland period.
If you where having trouble on the 2D titlescreen then theres something majorly wrong with your computer, I mean are you running on a 286 or something? or where you sure you were actualy clicking on the button... I can see how some chicken brains would have trouble aiming.
Now, heres a littel question id like all those that either say runescape is a good game or that say that the current system requirements are to high and they get crappy FPS. Do you currently own any post 1999 3D computer games (unreal, UT, Quake3, max payne etc), or do you or have you played or subscribed to a PAYING, current commercial 3D mmorpg? (eg. Everquest, DaoC, asherons call or Ultima:Reinasonce)?...
If you answered yes then more than likely you wont have responded to forum topic such as this one since youd know what the team is having to do.
If youve answered no then shut the hell up or at least try to learn what the development of a computer game intales. As for all teh littel children in teh forums that dont have or are not old enough for a credit card... either get a job or go back to playing Console games your parents buy you for chirstmas. REAL mmorpgs aint a place for children...
Venegences point is one Ive brought up many times, and any one that actualy continues to complain about network lag being caused by graphics needs to either up grade there old 486 or at least just shut up... since it shows your stupidity and ignorance with such a complaint.
Although Venegence Im not to sure that teh video driver tip helps much sicne I have a feeling half the people here have OLD machines, and no driver patch will help some one still useing a graphics card from 3 years ago, or heaven forbide still using software mode, simple as that.
mistwalker your opening comment is stupidity in its simplist form... how can you compare teh taste of a single apple seed to the taste of an apple plucked from an already grown tree!... As for teh city scenes.. all they have to do is implement a Clipping plane, its odd that you didnt mention a graphics card in your 1ghz 128ram example... since with out a graphics card even a 1ghz PC will choke on most current commercial 3D games... if you knew about things like this you would know that game speed is more greatly effected by teh graphics card you have installed than the CPU your PC has (would be a 20%cpu 80% GCard, older graphics cards pre-32megs ones how ever would slowly scale back to the CPU doing the most of the work).
As for Planeshift being too detailed for an mmorpg... would you rather walk around as wire frames or as stickmen... youd probably complain about your computer having Framerate problems even with that. And ot be honest PS\'s graphics are very undetailed compared to other games Ive played in this genre.
Do us all a favour and go play Runescape and that goes for any one that bash\'s PS teams work... god knows they can do with out whinners like your self.
