DEV or GM please read! 2billion tria at stake!
« on: December 27, 2004, 10:28:34 pm »
URGENT!

I have in my possession about 2 billion tria.

I gained these by completing a quest, which gave me negative 2 billion tria.

These became positive when I ?

Please give me details how to contact you or weather I should post the full details of the quest and what I did to make these tria positive here.

it shouldnt matter, you should be able to just post it here. All character information will be wiped until these bugs are solved and the game is a bit more runnable for everyone. This is to give other players a fair start. So if you have 2 billion tria dont get too attached ^^

It?s not attachment that I feel, but rather a sense of unfairness since got this money that I should not have.

Indeed, this time there will be no doubt about the eventual wipe. ;)
Therefore you may freely post it, but it probably belongs in the CB bug forum (maybe a Mod move this thread there?).

oy

they are correct, speak about the bug, let the devs correct it. let us exploit it or see if a similar rendition of it occurs somewhere else in the game.

I have noticed many negetive/positive overflow problems, but thats cool(and expected)

You can also test wether buying ridiculous numbers of cheap items will have a bad effect.

Sorry about not replying earlier, I had just gotten back. I got about -2 billion tria when I completed the quest given by Gorbiak.

I managed to make them positive buy dropping some of them (the smallest amount  I could was about 90k I think) and picking them up again. Give it a try and if it works let us know in this thread.

P.S. If you see me in game (Decci Epanchin) ask for cash, I?ll give some to everyone until it runs out.

Got the same bug, it is linked to the fact that a cost involved for a quest item apparently does not involve a check to see if you have enough money.

It occured for me because I was low on trias (about 30) but still bought a quest object with a cost of 50 trias involved, when next opening my inventory I realised I had gone into negative trias.

My reaction to this was to sell an object to get back into the positive but the negative tria remained and only got worse as time went on (probably the automated conversion script that acted on) so much so that by the time I had walked to another area I was in the negative for several 100 millions, eventually it became too much for the system and turned into a positive (no drop/ grab of money involved).

While at this stage it isn\'t trully a bother, even if it blocks me from some quests, because I know a DB wipe is on the way the bug is really dangerous because it is not 1.9 billion of Trias as stated before but unlimited money (in other words dropping money will have no effect on the amount you keep, I should know I tried dropping 500000 circles on the floor and the amount I had did not budge).

this very quest puzzles me to no end - I wonder if I got it the right way (copied text from the book on paper on a whim and went talking to interesting creatures)... anyway now that I got it I don\'t know how to proceed - i tried asking all the npcs I could find for any keywords but to no avail.

anyway, praise to thee who managed to complete it!

Hey, you should find Randalp online (he\'s the guy that got 4,252 progression points from killing a rogue) and give him a chunk.  At an average of 42 tria to train each skill level that comes to 178,584 tria he\'ll need to train them all.  Let\'s see how godlike we can make him in the game.  Also it\'ll be a way of finding possible bugs with insane advancement :)

I would do it except for the fact I\'ve already seen how godlike you can make a person at the moment and the answer is not very much as stats acquired outside of the creation process (trained) have no impact on HP and/or MP.

This means basically that a person with a huge amount of PP could only hope for a levelling of his combat abilities or in short Melee, Sword and Axe at the moment for any in game impact and that is something many players have already done without any bug related advantage.

Cheers,
