update problems
« on: January 29, 2005, 06:24:26 pm »
When i start up the updater and click update it says downloading registry... when it hits 100% it goes back down to 0, so i figured exit and restart it when i exited i noticed a file named repos.zip so i unstuffed it using stuffit expander (running on mac) and it created a file named repository.xml, a real basic file, also when i run psclient and i try to log in it says I am not running the correct version (when connecting to laanx) when i try to connect to localhost it says it is not running or not reachable.

Thanks for any help you can give me

I let the updater run for about 10 minutes after it said downloading registry and nothing happened

You need a localy running Planeshift-server to connect to localhost, so if psclient says that it cannot reach localhost, it\'s probably right.

You shouldn\'t have quitted your updater. First it will download the registry, when that is finisht he will start downloading the updates. So the bar went from 100 to 0% because he then wanted to begin downloading the updates. You will need to connect to laanx if you want to play.
Hope it will work now:)
