"Waiting on server data" won't dissappear
« on: January 13, 2005, 07:54:22 pm »
I can start the game and log in to Laanx, longer I can\'t get. I see the screen, with a \"New Character\" button and a \"Quit\" button. Over the stone-thing it sais \"Waiting for server data\". That just won\'t dissappear. I can press quit but not \"New Character\". Anyone know how to do?? Molecular Blue worked fine, and I want to keep playing, so please help.

Edit: I just tried having it on a very long time (while watching Simpsons :D) to see if it gives me any error message or something, but it didn\'t. It did yesterday I think. Don\'t remember what it said :S. Whatever :P

If it doesn\'t move within a few seconds it usually means that the client\'s missed an important message. Keep trying to relog in, that message will go away one of those times :)

I don\'t think so :S. I\'ve tried a lot of times, but it never works. Well, I won\'t give up, so I keep trying anyway :D

-BUMP-

I think this is a bug/error that needs to be given more attention as I\'ve noticed a lot of people have it. Retrying to login doesn\'t seem to have any effect either

Please help

The server sends the critical strings that the client needs to get mesh data and so on in that screen.

Before it wouldn\'t check if the data had arrived, just assume that it had and crash at the loading screen.
Now it waits for the data, which should be NO problem unless you\'re on a VERY droppy network or has a malfunctioning firewall

I\'ve tried everything, that is, I don\'t even run a firewall, and I\'ve opened the ports on my router. I also disabled my anti virus system.

And I know it \'Should work\', but it doesn\'t....
