The Casino of Ojaveda is open!
« on: February 08, 2005, 12:38:47 am »
Greetings!

We are proud to announce that the Casino of Ojaveda has finally opened its doors to everyone who wants to try his luck and win a lot of trias! This time we only can offer three types of games but i\'m sure you will enjoy them. The rules are quite simple, so don\'t be afraid come and see how lucky you are. Challenge other players or play against the house! Win as much as you can carry home!

Find us in East-Ojaveda in one of the abandoned huts.

PLEASE READ THE RULES CAREFULLY BECAUSE WE CAN\'T EXPLAIN IT TO EVERY NEW PLAYERS!!!

The rules are the following:

The Heart of Talad

\'Run for the Heart of Talad! Run fast and keep your eyes open! You might get lost on the way and not reach your aim, or hurry too much and overlook your aim. Talad\'s blessing is with those who are closest to his heart, but those who are too far away, will have to do their best to keep him calm.\'

The player who\'s closer to the Heart of Talad wins all bets.

1. Each player gives a 10 trias \'ante\' to the house.
2. House rolls five 20-sided dice, to determine the Heart of Talad.
3. Each player rolls five 20-sided dice (using the command: /roll 5 20)
4. The players, who are more than 20 points away from the Heart of Talad, lose their ante, and every bets placed so far, to the house.
5. The remaining players can decide here to go or quit. If only one player decides to quit, the game ends.
6. The game starts again with a 10 trias bet but the bets placed so far remains in the bank and can be won at the end.
7. The player, who is closest to the Heart of Talad wins the whole bank (the bets and antes of all players still playing).

The Road to Laanx

\'Take the road to Laanx! Easy job this time: Hurry as fast as you can! Just keep on the road to reach your goal and always trust in your faith.\'

In this game, house play as a normal player, except can\'t quit and places no ante or bets.

The player with the most points at the end of the game wins all bets placed throughout the play.

1. Each player gives a 5 trias \'ante\' to the house.
2. Each player rolls five 20-sided dice (using the command: /roll 5 20)
3. Players after the roll are able to raise the bet with 10 more trias or can quit any time. If a player quits, his ante goes to the house and his placed bets can be won by the winner.
4. Players, who decided to go on, can participate in a next turn. The points earned in every turn are added together. The game lasts up to 3 turns, in case there are players remining.
5. If there are player with equal points at the end of the game, comes a new turn same as the ones before but without ante.
6. At the end of the game the player with the most points wins the match. If every player quits, house wins all bets and antes.

The Hill and Valley game

\'Take the hills and valleys on the road to Ojaveda. But watch your step because higher fortune brings higher risks.\'

This is a one-player game.

1. Player pays a 2 trias ante to the house.
2. House rolls one 20-sided die.
3. Player must guess if the next roll is going to be a Hill (higher) or a Valley (lower).
3. House rolls again.
4. If the player\'s guess was right, he doubles his winnings, if not, he loses all his winnings.
5. The player can decide to quit and take his winnings or to go on. If player continues, he must guess again. The game goes until playes quits or loses.

If anything is not clear just see me at the casino and try a game, because practice makes perfect!

And the most important rule : NO WEAPONS ALLOWED IN THE CASINO!

NOTE: As you can see there are no serious winnings or losses so far, because our business is short on funds. We accept donations, so we can adopt more games in our casino with the possibilities of winning serious trias.

If you need a guide, then add Areneren Aremenger to your buddy list. that\'s me and I will find you and take you there if you need me to. I will do this only once. you will be added to my buddy list while in Hydlaa plaza. If you know where the forest to the magic shop is, then take a left instead of a right and just follow the path.
The hunt is on, but what do I hunt? I hunt those that would desturb the peace.

Hello there!

I understand that the road to Ojaveda is quite long, and we are not open 24/7, so please before you make your way to the casino, ask me (Csaba) in-game, when we will be open
during the day. If i\'m not online or can\'t answer the casino is surely closed that time. Thank you.

Nice initiative, but if I were you I\'d stop offering \"the Hill and Valley game\" for in the long run the house will always lose. ;-)

Good luck with it.

Great Iniciative... I\'ll go there even today if the server goes up (\"#$%& now that I finished to do everything that I had to do).

Also I agree with Hitancrias, the \"Hill and Valley\" game will make the bank loose it\'s money.

Probably I\'ll ruin myself there... but still I\'ll play :D
Just a thing... A player should never win all the money from bets and antes, the bank should take some of it... like... er... 10%?
Honestly, it\'s a very good idea,  hope it works ;) Also the devs could put some sign posts to indicate it :P

Yes yes yes, the Hill and Valley is a submartingale and will lose for the bank, the others martingales with expected value zero for all, I believe BUT, don\'t let this get out, I think the casino may be another way to pump money into the economy.  A losing casino is excellent for an rpg, don\'t you think? So let\'s keep it under our hats and meet there when we can!
