Fighting, not how but best way.

Ok, I figured you have to be close enough to hit the rat. I also figured out that you can use the Information window to select aggressive among other ways to fight.

I just got finished fighting a rat, he took 50% damage I am all the way down to 1% - barely escaped with my life. Right now I am sulking in a corner licking my wounds waiting for my hp to restore to 100%

The last rat I fought I killed taking no damage what so ever.

The previous 3 rats killed me out right, one was an invisible rat, kept on attacking and I couldn\'t find it to hit back.

Care to \'splain to me how best to fist fight a rat - or fight in any method?

Az

PS: For me I keep getting the Error Page when trying to access the guide. This has been a hit and miss deal so i haven\'t gotten all the data - yet. If this is covered in the guide could you give me a link? thanks

Well, from the post I gather you have no weapon, which is obviously standard starting as a newbie. Right, in the game at the moment, there are two types of Rat, regular and \"robust.\" The regular ones are weak and die in a few hits as one would expect, but the robust ones...well, think killer bunny from Holy Grail (one of the best movies ever, hehehe...anyways) You can figure out which are which by right clicking on them and looking at the description pop-up (eye symbol). If it says \"robust\" looking rat, get out of there. I have been playing for about a month now, and I still barely can beat a robust rat, even with two silver falchions.

Also, it does help as a newbie to set the stance initially to defensive so that if the creature attacks and hurts you, you might have enough hp left to run away.

Right, hope this helps

Also, at beginning, try to find a single rat to beat on, if other monsters are around, they will find you when you least expect it.
You can also lead your rat away to a safer area to kill it, but the robust rat is deadly, he will hurt you even when you get strong.
Just pick your enemies carefully until you can train up some.

Actually I have found that if your close enough to get the eye when you are right clicking, then the critter is close enough to attack you.

I did figure out that my problem was I was getting slaughtered by the robust rats.

I was completely disappointed when all I got was 3 Trias from a gobble. At least the rat pelt is worth 6 ;)

Thanx
