This is the last thread im going to make about this

I keep hearing things like \"you are NOT here to play a game. If you knew anything about Planeshift, if you had read a single thing about this project, you would know that.\" But the thing is, why are we here, honestly, if we cant play the game or anything, just to get wiped out, and if the game isnt to even be played for all these years, then why are we here? I want to just play this game, its a good game with minor bugs, but those can be fixed, but if we just keep getting wiped and everything we work for is then gone then whats the point, i want to play this and i\'d say they did enough testing, for like 4 years now, can someone tell me when we can play without worry of anything happening to our character?

The quickest and easiest way to fix all the bugs that have unbalanced the economy and created super-characters is to wipe. That is the dev\'s decision.

This is an Alpha Techdemo, not a final game. The point is, you find bugs so we can fix them. Nothing more. If you\'re not satisfied with that, play something else.

Well, in the end it is our hobby.  We could all just drop it tomorrow and the would be nothing.  Now that\'s probably not very likely but it underscores the nature of the project.   Since it is a volunteer project we are under no obligation to do anything.  But since we are a bunch of nice guys ( and girl ) we try out best to help out the players as much as we can since without you we cannot make the game better.

As for the time parts...
How long do you think Blizzard spent on World of Warcraft?  According to one of the developers \" It struck me that we\'ve been working on this game for years, longer than some graduate school programs.\"  And that\'s with a team of 65+ and millions of dollers in budget.  You know how many of the same team members we have from when I started?:  2.  That\'s cool though because people come along and do their thing and then other interests take them elsewhere.  It\'s very dynamic and evolutionary.

This is a totally different way to develop an online game.  Playing as the game is in development.   There are bound to be some problems and uncertainty is probably the biggest one.   So the answer to your question is: \"You will probably never have a time where you can play with 100% assurances your character is safe.\"  BUT we will try our hardest to do the best we can for people\'s characters.
