new "game loading" system

Planeshift DEFINETLY needs a new game loading system that takes a little slower but uses less computer RAM ;)

wut are you thinking.  If they loaded any slower, i would be waiting an hour to load up the game and about 45 minutes to wait for loadings between maps. :(   Are you nuts?

besides, if you  dont have enough RAM, you need a new computer.  Mine SUCKS.  It is soo old, but it runs P.S. (although with a lot of lag).

it need about 400MB of ram.... it\'s not so few...

Just deal with it for now. any slower and some might start to complain. Like you are doing now ;)

Well... the game eats around 690MB of RAM while loading everything...

The game data (textures, sounds & stuff) is pretty unoptimized because the devs want to have all the debugging stuff compiled into the client for bug finding reasons...
