HELP i\'v been trying for two days to install but all i get is a flash then the PlantShift installer disapires what am i doing wrong. plez some one help me. or i might just have  to give up on ever playing this game. I tryed every thing i know but it dosent seem to work n i\'v downloaded the file so meany times (cuse it dalets it self after ever failed instal) maybe its cuse of the programs running in back ground but i dont know the command that lets u shut em al off. I\'m trying to install for winds xp. oh and even the md5 file is not working properly when i went to run n typed in the command md5 PlantShift... well u know it just said md5 could not be found. so plez some one tell me if u had this problem n what did u do to fix it. I realy wanna play this game.

I realized i misspelled some things in my post sorry long night and i\'m dislexic but trust me when i typed the commands in thay were right. i even had some one elase type em in a few times for me to make sure.

Try using a Download manager to download the files. You say they keep failing- so I expect all you\'re getting are corrupt downloads.

Try GetRight or FlashGet (I use GetRight myself, and I\'ve heard FlashGet is also a good alternative).

ok well i have flash get but i didnt use it took longer then a regular down load (go figger) so i got getright n i\'m trying it out hopefully it works.*sigh* i tryed with flashget n the same thing happens it just flashes for a moment then baam  file delets it self hopefully i\'ll have more luck with getright.WEll i tryed it with getright n same resulsts i guess i\' not ment to play this game. seems like no mater what i try same thing happens it flashes the licens agrement screen n thats it.

Well, there is known Windows port of one of basic and nicest UNIX
programs - wget. It is a program that has to be called from command line,
you may download this: http://platyna.xpam.de/dl/windows/www/wget.exe
and copy to your  C:\\windows and then call it:

Start --> Run --> wget http://downloads.planetmirror.com/pub/planeshift/PlaneShift_CBV0.3.009.exe

It has multiple options and is not an interactive program.

Hmmm... so it downloaded the 220 MB and when you ran it it actually showed the license agreement and then quits, deleting the file?
This seems strange. If you wouldn\'t have been using download managers as well it might have been that you didn\'t select rightclick->save as in the browser, but this wouldn\'t happen with the managers.

This behaviour could be due to a virus or other malware on your system, so you should check your system with an up to date virus scanner. If you don\'t have one, install http://www.avast.com, it\'s free for personal use and updates automatically.

As for the md5 sum: use http://md5summer.org/, it\'ll do the same thing but you can navigate it.

After downloading, copy the downloaded file somewhere else so that you don\'t need to redownload it if it continues to delete itself. Then run the md5 generator (either use \"create sums\") and compare the sums visually (the verify sums option requires a file), or download this file http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload9/PlaneShift_CBV0.3.009.txt, rename it\'s extension to \"md5\" (I had to rename it since the server doesn\'t accept \"md5\" as extension) and use that as input for the program.
