Installer Builder Selection...
« on: April 29, 2005, 10:21:26 pm »
There are Free, Open Source installer builders out there that do an amazing job, compress well, and are simple to use.  Have you guys looked at any?  I\'m using one very successfully at work, and have been very impressed by it.

I use InnoSetup.

I\'ve heard of NSIS, but never used it.  I\'ve had a GREAT experience with Inno.  Easy to use, free for commercial or personal, you can include downloadable updates, and you can (though not required) use PASCAL to code pretty-much whatever you like, IF you feel like coding.

The documentation is good, and community is very supportive.

In mine, I use it to install my app, plus build and populate a SQL Database and Web Application with virtual directories.
