problems w/ linux and nvidia glx
« on: September 21, 2002, 11:30:57 pm »
Hi,

I\'m having problems getting psclient (0.0.4) running with opengl on my linux box (SuSE-8.0). I\'ve installed the CS -rpms provided w/ the client rpm.

After lots of WARNINGs regarding plugins that could not be loaded locause some *.so were not found (i.e. cssgiimg, cswalimg, motion, sndmod, sndogg), I get the message

\"Could not find proper GLX visual\"

I have a Elsa Razor II card (w/ NVidia Riva TNT2) - the nvidia XFree-4.0 driver with GLX extensions are working perfectly.

glxgears is definitely using the hardware acceleration and some other apps also work fine with glx. The output of glxinfo is:

Could the problem be due to the wrong color depth? Has anyone yet managed to get the client running with a TNT2 card with glx enabled? Can the verbosity

Cheers,
