special keyboard - cheating?
« on: July 28, 2005, 10:35:16 pm »
Ok, I got a new keyboard that\'s specialy made for gaming.

To get the whole idea, here\'s the website: www.zboard.com

I\'m just asking, I was going to make the planeshift controlls to work on this, but I\'m worried it\'ll be consitered a cheating device.

Can someone help me?

I doubt that\'s cheating - you\'re just using the latest technology to get the most out of your gaming experience ;) Besides, as I understand it what you\'ll be able to do is just set various commands to various keys, right? Any keys you want. It\'s just a way of organizing the keyboard to your preferences and comfort. And it\'s akin to computer systems - some people have better hardware, so they have less lag and prettier graphics. So you\'ll just have better controls.

Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Don\'t worry, sesmi, it definitely wouldn\'t be considered as cheating. What counts is that you are in command, not some kind of bot harvesting all day long while you\'re doing something else.

Have fun with your new keyboard! :)

Thanks, I will :)

I was just thinking that planeshift is pretty strict with \"keeping to rp\" and \"no outside help\" and I was worried that this would be thought of as outside help.

Thanks for your help :)

thats not a keyboard, people who call that a keyboard should be slapped round the face with it.
<Rux> i wish i could say that narrows it down, but the internet is one freaky place

i don\'t understand why the make such a noise about that thing. it was available in a computer-store named ARLT here in germany for the past three months or even longer. what really would be a nice keyboard to have is this one:

Omg... what would be the price of it? (and the reliability)

Looks like a scary idea, even if good at first glance.

A keyboard is made to type (without looking at it I might add), so I\'d rather have a high-quality touch feeling than a glowing casino-like evil machine that I\'ll never look. Besides, I\'m sure websites will be delighted at the concept and surreptitiously render unsollicited ads on this kind of keyboard. Believe me, \'tis a bad idea ;)

pretty keyboards.

i wouldnt consider it cheating, the options alow you to configure the set up how you want it, no matter what input device you have.

i want an optimus ^^ gonna have me little catgirls waving the letters at me xD if its rediculously expensive i\'ll just get an illuminix and draw the catgirls myself :)
