Talad and the Holy Rune
« on: November 05, 2002, 08:16:14 pm »
Once upon a time in the underground, there was a god named Talad, ruling the cities down under. But after a while he wanted to extend his power, in order to make surface cities also believe and worship him. he wanted to become the most powerful god ever, but he did not know how to archieve this. Until he found an old legend in one of the ancient books of Jarose\'s Libary?.

\"He who finds the Ancient Rune shall archieve a power far beyond any of both mortals and immortals\", the book said. Talad became interested.

And so he did read more and moe about the Holy Rune. What he was coming to know was corrupting more and more his stone heart, driving his mind deep inside the greediest dreams of power. After much time of research, it seemed he found the final answer for his enigma, after solving the puzzles of the ancient books and scrolls.

\"Behold, immortal: Thou who seeks the power shall find an evil beyond thy godly imagination. Only the strongest in mind and body shall survive the perils of the castle of the eternal mistress of the darkness. There lies the final key for the domination. There lies the Holy Rune of Power. Blessed be the one who finds it, as blessed be thee, immortal seeker!\"

And so Talad set out to do the impossible: defeat true evil itself, and retrieve the Holy Rune. One of the books described a way to sense the rune\'s power, which was useful because Talad had no idea where to look for it. He went into a deep meditation.

He saw a castle. But not a normal castle. This was a demonic castle. Thousands of chambers, huge walls with archers and dragons on top. this wasn\'t a castle, this was the gateway to hell. before his vision faded he saw a vague image of an evil, all-powerful warrior. Talad shivered.

And so, alone, he travelled a long way through the lands in an untireable quest for the holy rune of the infinite power. After a long journey, when almost giving up, he smelled a scent never felt before. He layed down on the ground, and began to meditate.
\"Just imagine the evil around thee. Just abandon thy deepest fears and the castle thou shall see.
Just imagine no land, no sea. Just imagine no joy, only tears, and in the terror thou shall be.\"
He opened his eyes, and began to gather all his negative energies deep from his soul. Almost giving up, in a desperate attempt to find the true path to the power, he looked up to the skies and saw the blank, the void.
Then again he looked to the land and he found himself in the middle of a dead, devastated area. Standing in his front, at least, the castle of his dreams - and nightmares.

Talad encountered the next problem; how to enter the castle? He couldn\'t just knock on the door and ask them to let him in. While Talad was sitting and thinking there, someone tapped on his shoulder. Talad jumped up and almost yelled as hard as he never yelled before. He quickly turned around. Behind him was a fierce-looking woman. She didn\'t look like a evil mastermind or undead warrior. Talad bowed and asked: \"Who are you, m\'lady?\"

\"I am Gronomist.\" She said, and giggled.
After a long conversation, Gronomist, the castle mistress\' cooker, understood the magnitude of Talad\'s powers and agreed to help him entering the castle. In fact, she wanted him to enter - for such a long time she was being held a slave of the great mistress of evil.

So they entered in the enormous castle. No one around. The gold pieces scattered all around the place amazed Talad\'s eyes and made he understand the true magnitude of the holy rune. Footsteps. Talad tried to hide somewhere, but seemed it was too late. Gronomist, seeing that the mistress\' joker was still around, found herself scared to the soul. What would he do knowing that the cooker let a stranger enter the castle?

Soon he appeared in the main stairs, wearing his foolish cloths, and after seeing Talad (and recognizing him), cold-looking to Gronomist. Her soul froze.

Before them stood a joker, but not a normal one. He had 4 arms and 3 eyes. He looked incredibly strong. He was surprised for a few seconds, but he recovered quickly. On his hideous face, an evil grin became visible.

With a raspy voice he began to talk very soft, but easy to understand. \"What have we got here... a run-away slave and a puny excuse for a god. Hmm, this is quite convienient actually, I haven\'t found the time yet to eat this month. You will both become my meal.\"

Gronomist began to whisper very fast and very nervous to Talad. \"This is the King\'s joker. He is called Link. Link is also his bodyguard. We\'re in trouble, Link is strong and fast, and he has powerful magical abilities, please tell me you have a plan...\"

Talad had a plan.

Soon Talad invoked Vengeus, the God of Administration, to help him. Vengeus, in all his good sense, clearly understood the situation and made a judgement. Since Link was being a very inhuman an disrespectable man in the realms, Vengeus banned him forever.

But it didn\'t ended yet. On his back, the main door opened. Again fast beated his stone-heart. There, a cold female voice screamed...

The power coming off this woman was beyond measurement. Vengeus could do nothing to prevent her to do anything she liked. She walkd up on Talad and Gronomist, laughing. Suddenly she began to talk.

\"I am called Aelya. I am the princess of evil. I will become your doom. Powered by the Ancient Rune I am unstoppable!\"

\"What is this rune all about?\", Talad yelled. \"What does it do? If you are planning to kill me, please tell me before you do it!\"

With a devilish look on her face she began to tell the history of the Rune and how she got it.

\"Bwahaha....this...this is the Pie-Rune! This rune can give whoever possesses it the power to forge the most tastefull pies of the world. With this rune I can embend a smell that can cross the galaxy! BWAHAHAHAH\"

Talad shaked in fear.

\"Know I was choosen by the god Boonet to be the possessor of the Pie-Rune to serve his ideas, but I fooled him! He didn\'t knew that with the Pie Power I could defeat even him and his smoking bananas!\"

Talad was frozen in terror.

\"Know also that no one, not even the Master Elentor and his spiked dildos could stop me. Know that...I...am...unbeatable! GRWAHAHAHAAHAH.\"

But Talad indeed had a plan..

Talads mind worked like it had never worked before. \"The rune is all-powerful, but usch power cannot be contained, nit even by wiched princess Aelya, meaning that she somehow possesed it, so if I can break that spell, Aelya\'s tru power is gone, and then i can defeat her in battle.\"

All these things crossed Talad\'s mind in ?ne second of thruth. It looked like time had stopped. It as clear to him what he had to do. He just did not know how yet.

That is when Link, in all his fury moment, screamed so high from the void that all dimensions could easily hear

\"Your *********\"

Tormented by his voice, Aelya, Gronomist and Talad began to cry in despair and agony. Gronomist, in a last trial of helping talad, tickled Aelya. She lost her concentration and let the pie rune fall in the ground...and break. By losing so much, an enormous anti-gravitational pression began inside her being and destroyed her forever.

Soon with the power release, Talad and Gronomist got back into the reality.

But the power of the rune was now lost inside another dimension, and shattered. Could anyone ever return to it and join the 4 pieces of the Pie-Rune again?

Edited for language.

Epilogue

Talad
Talad couldn\'t sense the parts of the Rune anymore. He began a big search after the pieces.

Gronomist
Gronomist joined Talad in his search for the pieces. Talad is the worst cook imaginable, so she makes herself very useful.

Link
He reincarnated by powerful magic, but became very weak, and is furious at the ones who killed him.

Aelya
Although she\'s dead, her spirit remained on the plane. And other dark forces are already busy reviving her....
