PlaneShift updater

I\'m just wondering mind you, but how long does it take? I started it about 2 hours ago and I\'ve got no idea how long it still has left. It doesn\'t seem to have any status bar, estimated time left, or even a percentage complete! unless ofcourse the bottom bar is the overall percentage left, in which case I\'m screwed . . .

a fresh install of ps will take a bit to update. let it tick over for a bit. by morning it will be finished

Yeah . . .Shoulda searched first.

I\'ve done a search but I still have one question though, is the bottom bar the overall percentage completed? If it is then I\'m screwed, it\'s been on 0% for about 3 hours, still downloading art zip files.

Oh wow! just looked again before i posted! it\'s on 4% now! And it\'s doing 8.0kb/s!

Oh . . . back down to 1.0kb/s . . .

I\'m so impatient! I\'ve wanted to play for AGES!!!

It\'ll be worth it, I know it!

the bottom bar is total progress.

the updater can be a cpu intensive process. (i think... a dev may want to comment on that). try killing off running applications to see if that picks things up again

Hey seriously guys, sorry I didn\'t search first. you all must get so sick of NOOBs like me asking stupid questions. But thanks for replying, it\'s making (slow) progress now and I\'ll see you guys in the game (eventually). :)

the problem it seems is it unpacks each file individually.  Would be more efficient if it would just download all the files at once and then unpack and synch everything *shrugs*  Took me about 40 minutes to update and I\'m on a 1.5mb DSL heh.  Almost as long as the download itself took :D

The worst part of the update are the really small files in the /Art directory. After those are downloaded the update should go faster ;) It took me 3 hours for 20 MB but it worths all the waiting. See you on the other side.

Lol, mine\'s taking longer than the download (1hr 40mins), would be alot better if it downloaded them all first then unpacked them. Not even a single percent done yet :\'(

wow... i\'m always saying my internet sucks... i downloaded PS in 25 minutes and updated in like 30... but thats because i spent like 250 dollars from my b-day to get a Geforce 5500 VC and 766 mb ram! and yet PS still lags! HAH!

my progres bottom bar has been on 77% all night long... i stopped the updating and i\'ve started to play the game... untill now seems working... i hope it\'ll do the same for a bit more... this evening i\'ll try again, but it\'s really boring...
