planeshift crashes after loading world

A common problem is related to sound, I believe. Go to the PlaneShift Setup (C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\pssetup.exe, or Start->Program Files->PlaneShift Crystal Blue->PlaneShift Setup, on Windows), and choose \"Off\" under sound options. See if this fixes it :)

I wish I could actually -play- with my sound on...Why can\'t this be one of the top priorities to get fixed, no matter how many new sounds/music they impliment, we crash regardless, and are not able to listen to it...So I\'m playing all day with listening to nothing but the TV in the other room and the sound of my fingers hitting the keys >.<

I believe it is fixed :) The fix will be included in the massive update of bug-fixes within the next couple of days.

Wasn\'t that update supposed to happen earlier this week? I\'ve heard a lot about it, but it keeps getting delayed :/

Game loads fully then either just disconnects me and closes the game or the screen goes black and all i hear is music, and when i shrink the game down i see an error message
something unexpected happened in planeshift
exception_acces_violation at 00D5F161 and another one
00D0989B
Then after i saved the error and clicked ok i got another message something about memory dump with a number along the lines of
077ffekl X 883rfEhu3 something like that...i cant log back onto the server so i cant get the exact error message
odd thing is it alternates
first time it just shut down after i saw Loading GUI
second time it turned black and i lost sound with the error
third time it just shut down after i saw Loading GUI
fourth time it turned black and i lost sound with the error
etc etc
i searched the forums and i tried it with sound on/off
load maps disabled and all the other suggestions i could find
anyone have any other suggestions?

o and my specs are..
Windows XP Home
Nvidia GeForce 5500FX
(sound card unknown-pretty sure its just attached to the motherboard)
Azus Motherboard with an AMD Athalon 2.2ghz processor
1.5GB ram
DSL 256 up/(not sure about down)
40gb free space
