FYI - ITRadio is back from where it still was
« on: October 12, 2005, 07:29:42 pm »
4th announcement allready,

yes this is the 4th time i\'m making one of these threads, but this time it\'s different :O

ITRadio is back, although we never officially left, we just want the planeshift community to know that we are still alive and busy with mayor improvements.

Currently we are training a new DJ to come to the station, and we might get 2 new life set DJ\'s ( they will mainly have life techno sets, so things might go wrong ).

There has been a server change.
Yes i bought a new server to host everything on, this has some mayor speed improvements, and together with the host change, ITRadio can handle more listeners then before.

We are also making several Radio programs, one of them is GameNews, a news show about games, nothing more, nothing less then games.
If you are a gamer, you definatly don\'t want to miss this.

Next to these imrovements we will be holding groups radio shows, where the listener of the station can come on the radio to ask a question live.

Offcourse all these improvements take time, so not everything is working yet.

One of the improvements that is working is our new player system.

We currently support Windows Media Player, Itunes and Winamp, and for all the users that are either at work or they don\'t have a low memory music player, we have the Online Radio Player, which will automaticly connect to ITRadio.

The schedule didn\'t change much from the last time, some dj\'s are still busy with the improvements, new settings etc so they will not be on the air yet.

Now after this endless long talk about how good our radio station is :p i will give you the link, so you can all enjoy listening.

http://itradio.dorbian.nl

The website will also show if the radio is currently online or offline.

By clicking on the users image on the left side of the site, you can request songs, so your favorite song will be played by the current DJ.

Now come all and listen to Planeshifts first ( yes we where the first ) Radio station ( but now gone solo :P )

I\'m willing to do more interviews as well and answer player questions.  BUT again it would have to be around
21:00 UTC.

An idea would be to record them beforehand and clean them up and then put them on the air.  At least until I get better at public speaking :)

I will be tuning in for sure.

i would love to do that again, we currently are still working out a perfectionised way to record intervieuw or to live stream them, because the answer time is to long.

for the people that don\'t understand me ( as i have more often nowadays )

whenver i ask you something trough the internet, and you answer, the answer will come approximatly 2 seconds later, at that time someone else might say something so the voices will interfere with eachother.

we stepped down of skype and are using teamspeak, it is better with group chats so i finally followed the advice of the people in this community.

On other news I did my second gamenews recording this time with Jedi a guy who used to be here a while ago but moved on....should be playing it some time today if we get enough listeners to justify it :P

new system, wants to test it
« Reply #10 on: October 19, 2005, 12:41:35 pm »
Okay, we are going to test a new system tonight, and we need some people in the teamspeak channel, so basicly this is a request for some people to attend to the teamspeak channel we use.

tonight at 08:00 GMT we will start with the testing of the new system, if this works we will start with one or two new shows with multiple people.

you won\'t get any cash for attending, you will get our thanks and you get to be on the radio station.

For details go to itradio.dorbian.nl and join in.

following up the last post, our last try wasn\'t that succesfull so we will have to do it again.

Our hardware has been improved again, and we congifured everything to be in order for the test.

Seperot and myself will host the show and we will accept several people inside the TS server channel.

If you want to participate in the test join us on the TS server, you can find the details at http://itradio.dorbian.nl

We want as much people as possible to test how much the server can handle and the radio server can handle during the test.

If this all works out without a problem we will start with interview shows or multi hosted shows.

The show will be recorded for future reference.

I would like to appologize for the lack of dj\'s at the moment, as we are still recovering, we are trying to get the previous dj\'s back and some new ones if possible.

so some weekends there might not be a dj or you might hear the same one for 2 or 3 days in a row.

EDIT:
hehe forgot the time, the test will start at 08:00 PM GMT +0 so join TeamSpeak, come to IRC or just listen to us.
