I\'ll let the log speak for it self.  And also when I tried connecting to the server it said something about updating something and it doesn\'t have it for my OS.

I have used the current r2 installer on two suse 9.3 installations with no problems as well as compiled from cvs on suse 9.3.

It looks like you have the wrong mirror set in the updater edit updaterconfig.xml as per these instructions http://psmirror.u24.solone.net/ and re run the updater and ignore the other_os message :)

*edit

where did you get the installer from was it Here? if not use this one!

I followed the instructions.  The updater works like a charm and so does the setup.  But when I try to run the client I get this...

njd@linux:~> cd \'/opt/planeshift\'
njd@linux:/opt/planeshift> ./psclient.bin
./psclient.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libcal3d.so.11: cannot ope                                            ory
njd@linux:/opt/planeshift>

I checked and the file is there.  What should I do?  I don\'t know if it matters but I have a dual boot setup with SUSE 9.3 & 10 and I tried it in both with the same results.

Hi both the installer installs (?) that I did were done to local dirs not system wide so you could try that.

You could also check the path for libcal3d which should be IIRC :)
Code: [Select]
/path/to/cal3d/src/cal3d/.libs/

Never mind I got it fixed last night.  I even played on the server for a little while.  I should have said something sooner.

However there is one issue I keep having.  I keep getting a very low FPS.  It depends on where I go on the map but it brings the client to a crawl.  Is this a server speed issue or client?  I read some where that this games wants about 1 ghz or higher CPU, but from the look of the graphics it looks like Tomb Raider 2 or 3 quality which are games that run on my system just fine with a 600 MHZ Celeron.  Half the time the game runs some what decent but the other half the FPS drops for no apparent reason.
