Linux : Backdrop doesn't appear
« on: November 21, 2002, 06:40:38 pm »
Athlon 1.2Ghz
448Mo SDRAM
GeForce 4 Ti4200
LFS system (personal distribution)

So the problem appears in the character creation section
No bitmaps load, I just see black and white squares, and a some ugly text.. So I cannot do anything because I don\'t see anything properly. So you know this problem ?

Here is the debug message :

Error ID: crystalspace.maploader.parse.image
Description: Could not load image \'/planeshift/art/backdrop/crmain86.png\'. Unknown format or wrong extension!

Hmm, that is strange.  Can you open that image using some sort of 3rd party graphics package?  It also may be because of the way the RPM\'s were built.  Hopefully we will eventually release src tar balls or binaries.

Yes I can open the images with any graphics software or viewer like electrics eyes or gimp.
