I have AOE3 but haven\'t tried any online play yet.  I am not sure what\'s involved with setting up on ESO and want to finish the missions first ( I\'m on 3rd mission in act 3 ).   But if I can get it setup online I\'m open to taking on a few people :).

Yeah, I\'ve got it. Still playing the singleplayer missions atm, but I\'ll start trying out multiplayer soon. I\'ll probably be pro at it as I am with most games :D

Actually I bought AOE III during the first week it came out.. and had soo many problems trying to get it to work.  I joined their forums and they couldnt help me.. Finally Myself and Ind completely redid my computer and surprisingly it worked :)... only to be later dissapointed.  I guess there is just a reason I like the second one.. and when you move away from it (Medieval Warfare) then its not nearly as interesting for me.  I had to buy it because AOE II is extremly awesome... sadly I dont think AOE III is better then the second one... AOE II just needs more Civs and a graphical update would be nice but is really not needed.  BTW from the main Age of Kings forum there is a visual pack being worked on by the AOE II community that will help out on new maps and better overall graphics :D... But yeah I was dissapointed in the third ones attempt making more of a cross between Cossasks and Rise of Nations.   Bottom line.. for such a great series like AOE.. never release it early.  I was amoung thousands who were having troubles.  And 2 patches have already been released for the game :P.. one in the first week the other a couple weeks later.  Neither of them helped me though :(

AOE is the elder scrolls of rts\'s (well, maybe c&c is too...) never ruch it, work with it till it\'s done, no matter what the players say, and don\'t cut features. We\'d really rather wait a few months than have stuff cut out or unpolished.

That\'s why dos games were so good I think, most were small enough that you could make a decent one in 6 months, including time to polish it up. Or else many were a labor of love by their creators, the equivalent of mount and blade nowadays. Fun to play already, but nowhere near finished, and constantly updated.
Warning: Prone to common sense.
