dermorians are the best!

why?

because elves are cool!  <--- thats what i think, now you decide what you think and make a choice based on that. just read this a bit.
<Rux> i wish i could say that narrows it down, but the internet is one freaky place

well i think enkidukais because they can get bonus at matial arts, lvl 4 in one school, nightvision but -2 mana while dermorians only get nightvision in the future releases

depends what you aim to be in our realm, a fighter would be more suited to choose a kran, a mage would be better of as a Xacha or Lemur but inevitably, be what you want to be

You are right, and I second that! Elves are....*thinks of a synonym for cool*...cool.

If you want to be a fighter, then choose Kran, Enkidukai or one of the dwarvish races. A mage would do better with Lemur, Xacha, Dermorians or Nolthrir. The Ylians are good allrounders, in my opinion.
And if you want a race that is cool (although not as cool as elves ;)), choose Klyros.

Knowledge is power, if you know how to apply it.

Isn\'t that redundant?

In RPG, all character classes are *the best*
« Reply #6 on: November 25, 2005, 01:44:22 am »
Just because the game offers you so many characters to play the game with, it\'s not correct to assume that one of them has to be the best.

People who have been playing RPG (Role Playing Games) will know that.

That *is* what makes RPG a different class of games altogether! You finish(?) the game with one character, and when you start with a different character, you suddenly find yourself confused! And gradually you learn new tricks, new strategies, and *learn* that character. This way, you can enjoy the same game from many angles, and that is one of the pleasures of RPG.

From psychological point of view, this depends on the problem-solving-ability. What do you do when your character does not have the skill that is required to perform the task? How do you find your way out from a new situation? These are survival tactics that go way beyond the game, and people *do* employ all these tactics in their real lives, however subconscious it may be!

Conclusion: RPG is all about experiencing every character class in the game. All are best if you know how to play and enjoy them! :)

If magic was ballanced and crafting was working, then maybe you\'d be right.

The Player Guide says this:
« Reply #8 on: November 25, 2005, 10:58:27 am »
PlaneShift Player Guide:

\"... PlaneShift does not have classes, what you are choosing in this screen is a predefined set of stats and skills, but you are not bound to that profession when increasing in experience. After some adventuring you will receive Progression Points points to distribute and you will then choose the skills you prefer, regardless of the choice made now. In other words there are no restrictions on who can learn certain skills, you can specialize on magic and swords, open locks and riding all with one character.\"
