confused
« on: November 25, 2005, 02:54:52 am »
ok, here we go again, I\'m confused. Seems every time I log out, in town, I log back in dead in the death lands, any reason for that? Or am I suiciding in some strange unimagineable way after I shut off my screen?

Never mind, I feel dumb... am lost in the sewers instead, roflmao.
(dont mind me =)

Help options

I presume you\'re a newbie at Planeshift. There are several options to get help (for example, if you\'re stuck somewhere, or can\'t understand a particular quest etc.)

1. Ask a nearby player: PlaneShift world is full of dedicated and knowledgeable players, and most of them are much-too-glad to help the newbies. If you need help and see any players around, just go near them and type your question in the chat window. They shall hear what you say and then reply you. If some people don\'t reply you, you can always ask someone else!

2. Use the HELP channel: In the chat window (lower right corner of screen by default), there\'s a HELP tab in the end. Click on the help tab to activate it, and type in whatever question you have. There are several game advisors online always, and they shall reply to your question in a short period of time. You can ask as many questions as you want, as long as they\'re valid questions. And remember to value the time of the game advisors as they have to help others too.

3. Shout: If you\'re desperate, or are stuck at a position where you cant\' see anyone, use the /shout command. Whatever you shout is audible to all the players in that particular city. For example, if you type /shout how do I mine gold? and then press enter, every player in that city will hear you shouting that message! Someone will respond to you, and sometimes many people respond at the same time!

4. Make a petition: Lastly, if nothing helps, and youre still stuck with a problem (let\'s say your screen is all black and you can\'t see a thing because you\'re dead, or if you\'re lost somewhere and can\'t get back to the town), click the PETITION icon on the screen (Just rest your mouse cursor over a icon to see its description), and make a petition. For example you can make a petition like this: \"I fell from height and died. Now it\'s all black and I can\'t see a thing\". Petitions are particularly helpful if there are no game masters online sometimes. Your petition stays, and is heard and resolved by a game master whenever they come online. The good part is that you don\'t even have to be online to get your problem solved! If you\'re not playing Planeshift when the advisor comes online, he\'ll make the changes and you\'ll be back in town the next time you enter PlaneShift!

5. Read the game guide: Last but not the least, if you ever feel bored of playing and role-playing PlaneShift, go through the Game User guide at the website http://www.planeshift.it. The guide is an easy to read quality document and you\'ll find it most helpful!

I\'m rather sure this isn\'t how /shout works. It simply has a greater range than /say, but not great enough to include the entirety of Hydlaa or Akkaio. Shouting for help is great for RP, but it should actually be the last resort for any OOC questions, since there are four other options.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
