Running the guantlets. An idea

I would like to see more dungeons, but removing the idea of wait for the one good monster, kill it, heal, wait more, repeat.

An idea would be gauntlets to be run:

- a dungeon area [guantlet] would hold only a certain number of players. Preferably groups that enter at the same time.
- Monsters would not respawn. Once dead, they are dead until the next group of players comes into the guantlet.
- Monster types and locations randomly determined, weighted to the power of the group currently running the guantlet.
-an NPC could charge a fee for a group to enter the guantlet. Alternately there could be a guantlet that contains a quest item.
-some guantlets could randomly choose from a selection of maps. [could a group\'s decision to enter a guantlet create an \'object\' for that group only, dissappearing upon resolution (all characters exit) ?]
