Intentional Game Master harrasment
« on: January 11, 2006, 05:07:17 am »
\"RASTRA MIKOS\" My name as it is displayed in game.

While playing the PS I was having particular problems with a \"quest\". I was directed by an NPC to another NPC telling me that he could
provide me with the quest information needed. It turns out the referred NPC would not respond to dialogue. From reading the forums I have
found that players of PS should use the in game help or ask others in game.

I unfortunately use the in game help system (ask an Advisor).
(This has been modified as to not give away the Quest or a solution to the Quest)

Rastra: I have asked said NPC every reference to \"keywords\" and the NPC responds to no avail.

Advisor (Celejha): The NPC does not have anything to do with the \"keywords\" and I should use a \"skill\" if I have the \"skill\".

Rastra: But I was referred to this NPC to gain information on the \"keywords\".

Advisor (Celejha): Well the information within the quest is a bit deceptive.

Rastra: Yes I have found this out now.

I then Log Out of the game world. I then log back into the game maybe 10- 15 minutes later. I start using a \"skill\" to raise it
to an appropriate level for later tasks.

Celejha tells you : Your name means Concrete and Styro foam mixture.

I think to myself, ok were did this come from?

Celejha tells you : Its also a city in Nepal

I think to myself, ok we have a GM that is bored and is \"GIS\"ing (Google Information Search) my name.( By the way Celejha \"Rastra\"
is not a city in Nepal)

(10 minutes later and I think I have a solution not provided by the GM I may say)
Celejha tells you : I can now get back to the question that you had asked.

I think to myself, what does my name have to do with or in reference to the question I had asked?

The following is a condensed version of what transpired and is not word for word.
Rastra: I have used this name for many years.
Celejha tells you : yes, but you can\'t use that name because it is (c) (Rastra is actually a ? for a building product)
Rastra: I am pretty sure that I could show that I have used this name before the (c).
Celejha tells you : No matter if you could, it is still a city in Nepal
Celejha tells you : I can change your name now how about Artsar
Rastra: So be it but if you must, I will not play this game if you do.

I log out for about 5 minutes and back into the game.

Celejha tells you : Your name is still a city in Nepal and it is (c)
Rastra: You might want to do more research Rastra is a spanish/(mexican) word for (goucho belt)
(FYI I live in the Southwest USA and \"mexican rastra\" is also a \"chili mill\")
Celejha tells you : That is even worse your name means something

I wont bore you any further , I get a SYSTEM message telling me that if I do not change my name in 2 minutes I will
be banned from the game(in red text). So I log off the game and go to control panel and delete PlaneShift from my system.
I do not need a GM harrasing me about my game name and it is displayed as RASTRA MIKOS not Rastra , please feel free to
Google search \"RASTRA MIKOS\".

About me: Rastra :P I was 4yrs old when PONG was release and 7yrs old when I got to play it, I was hooked on video games since.
I have played almost every RPG be it PnP or Video game since then. I have used the name Rastra for many many years through games
such as UO, EQ, AO, AC, AC2, Horizons,DAOC,EQ2, Runescape, Conquereronline, etc, etc, etc.. and I am sure I have missed a few.
I have not only played RPG games but have beta tested over 60% of them that I played through release.

So on an end note:
Cerejha don\'t be suprised if I (a)Copyright and (b) Trademark your name forwards ,backwards, and mixed combinations.
Cerejha?? (by the way Cerejha is a derivetive of the portuguese word for cherries)

Sincerely yours,
Rastra

P.S Go and Google your name to make sure it is \"Unique\". :P

Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
